Four steps, about fifteen minutes
Install the plugin
One file, dropped into the Claude desktop app. No terminal, no new account.
Point it at a folder
You choose the folder your vault will live in. Claude sees only what you explicitly hand it.
Answer four questions
What you do, and in what words. That's the whole setup; the vault builds itself around the answers.
It maintains itself
It files what you capture, checks its own numbers, and tells you plainly what it can't verify.
Your archive and the vault stay on your disk, and we never see them. Claude reads what you point it at, the same way it does with anything else you use Claude for. Nothing extra is sent to us or to any third party. It is the reason a governed archive of your own judgment is safe to build at all.

02 · What's in it
An empty vault that already knows the rules
The kit is the structure and the discipline. Your material is what goes in it, and putting it there is the whole reason a consulting track exists.
You get
- The folder skeleton, an operating manual the agent follows, note templates, and a worked claim-and-evidence pair to copy from
- The maintenance machinery: inbox filing, index regeneration, a linter, the daily log, a self-improvement loop, and the jobs that run them on a schedule
- Twelve commands, one per job:

You don't get
- Support. It's free, and free means unsupported, though we do read replies
- A version tailored to your role. The kit is generic, by design
- Your archive ingested. The gap between an empty vault and a full one is the paid work
- A confidentiality layer beyond the classification convention. The kit marks client material and holds the line at drafting a de-identification; deciding one is yours
03 · Two ways to install
Desktop app, or Claude Code
The Claude desktop app
Download the .plugin file and upload it under Customize → Plugins → Upload local plugin. Then run /ics-init in a new chat and answer the four questions.
Claude Code
Download the .zip, unzip it, and run ./install.sh. It links the twelve commands into your Claude Code setup. Then /ics-init, same as above.
Obsidian, optionally
The vault is plain markdown in a folder. Open it in Obsidian and you get the graph, the backlinks and the Bases views for free; open it in anything else and it's still just files.
What reaches whom. The plugin runs inside Claude, so your prompts and the material you point it at reach Anthropic under Anthropic's terms, exactly as they would without the plugin. Nothing reaches us. The software is provided free, as is and without warranty; the terms of use say so at greater length.
The thinking behind this. The kit builds what the whitepaper describes: claims apart from evidence, figures provisional until a human checks them, conflicts surfaced rather than resolved. The whole argument is published: Your Archive Is Not a Memory.
